DID YOU KNOW THAT...?

According to Greek mythology, Dionysus (the god of wine) courted the maiden Amethyst, but she wanted to continue being a young chaste woman. Artemis, upon hearing her pleas, turned the woman into a white rock. Dionysus apologized by asking the young lady for forgiveness by pouring wine over the rock, dyeing the crystals violet.
