The Ruby is the most coveted Corundum, due to its transparency and its intense red color to which it owes its name (from the Latin Rubens). They usually feature inclusions. We have used some translucent gemstones in a few of our Atelier TOUS collections.

Glass-filled treated

Ruby This is a natural ruby that has undergone a special treatment called “Glass Filled”, which involves the infiltrating of lead glass to fill the fissures and fractures that can be seen in the gemstone, giving it greater stability and presence. Resulting in large transparent gemstones in an intense red color. Frequently used in Atelier TOUS collections.
