MALACHITE

An opaque gemstone with a white greenish to dark color with bands. Its color comes from copper rust. Sensitive to heat, acid, ammonium and hot baths. In spite of it its weakness and lack of hardness, it is a very sought-after and used stone, normally in cabochon cut or balls. It is also used to cut decorative objects.
